JH Wall Paints Finishes: Lime Slurry Textured Finish
What is Lime Slurry by JH?
JH Lime Slurry is a mineral aggregate additive for Lime Wall Paint when a thicker consistency is desired for application by roller, trowel or brush. JH Lime Slurry contains compatible silicates of different grain shape and size in a well-balanced composition.
It is added to Lime Wall Paint to thicken the mixture. This textured mixture may be used to adjust or minimize differences in texture of the substrate or to create various decorative texture effects.
JH Lime Slurry may be used for interior or exterior projects.
The lime slurry finishes presented here are done using Mineral Prime first, then the application with a roller and Lime Slurry Smoothing Squeegee. Two coats of Lime Wall Paint + Lime Slurry are rolled onto the surface and then each coat (as it is drying) is pulled down with the smoothing squeegee. If the surface becomes dry you can mist it with water so the squeegee will easily smooth the surface. This application technique creates these vertical textured finishes.
A starting point for the mixture is 2 parts Lime Wall Paint + 1 part Lime Slurry. You can add more slurry if you prefer a thicker texture. You will need one coat of Mineral Prime as a prime coat over primed new drywall or painted surfaces.
